A bronze reproduction entitled "The Eagle" by French animalier Jules Moigniez (1835-1894). The piece depicts an eagle partially in flight with one foot firmly gripping a log while the other is extended with talons spread. The feather detail on the body as well as the wings demonstrates a high level of detail with the primary and secondary coverts distinctly separate from the larger feathers. The log terminates among the vegetation and the bronze base sits upon a larger round marble base with brass plaque. Measures approximately 20.5" x 16" x 29" tall.
