Manufacturer: Springfield Armory Type: Pistol Model: XD-9 Caliber: 9mm Barrel Length: 3" Optics: N/A ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 2599 Serial Number (S/N): US889214 Reference Number (Ref #): N/A The Springfield Armory XD-9, introduced in 2002 by Springfield Armory, Inc., is a polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol designed in collaboration with Croatia’s HS Produkt (originally as the HS2000.) Chambered in 9mm Parabellum, the XD (X-treme Duty) series was crafted for reliability and ease of use, targeting law enforcement, self-defense, and civilian shooters. Its ergonomic design and safety features quickly made it a popular alternative to contemporaries like the Glock, earning a reputation for durability and versatility in demanding conditions. This example, serial number US889214, features a 3" barrel, classifying it as a subcompact model ideal for concealed carry. Chambered in 9mm, it offers a standard capacity with the three included magazines, typically holding thirteen rounds each in this configuration. The pistol sports a black Melonite-finished slide, a polymer frame with a textured grip, and fixed three-dot sights for quick target acquisition. Weighing approximately 26 ounces unloaded, and measuring about 6.25" in overall length, it balances portability with controllability. In good condition, this XD-9 shows moderate wear consistent with light use, with its bore and action remaining fully functional. It comes with three magazines, a case, and a safety lock, enhancing its practicality for carry or storage. Manufactured in 2007, based on the "US" serial prefix and Springfield Armory’s numbering conventions, this pistol retains solid functionality. With its compact design and included accessories, it’s a reliable choice for shooters or collectors seeking a proven defensive handgun.
