The Featherweight variant, debuted in 1952, trims the classic Model 70’s profile with a slimmer barrel and stock, enhancing portability without sacrificing accuracy. Chambered in .308, among other calibers, it has earned a reputation as a reliable big game rifle, blending Winchester’s storied craftsmanship with practical field performance. This example, serial number 35AMN08764, features a 22" barrel chambered in .308, paired with a Nikon 3 9x40 scope for versatile long range targeting. It includes an internal magazine, typically holding five rounds in .308, a hallmark of the Featherweight’s streamlined design, and comes with its original box. The rifle sports a walnut stock with a satin finish and a free floating barrel, weighing approximately 6.5 pounds and measuring about 42" overall. Its bolt action system offers a controlled feed mechanism for smooth, dependable cycling. In excellent condition, this Winchester Model 70 Featherweight retains its factory fresh quality, with the internal magazine and action functioning properly. Manufactured in 2012, based on the "35A" prefix per Winchester’s post-1964 serial numbering conventions, it reflects modern production from their Portuguese facility. With its Nikon scope, box, and pristine state, this rifle offers a top tier option for shooters or collectors seeking a lightweight, accurate .308 bolt action.
