Manufacturer: Ruger Type: Rifle/Bolt Action Model: M-77 Caliber: 300 Win-Mag Barrel Length: 24" Optics: Leupold 3x9 Vari-X II ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 2592 Serial Number (S/N): 78414522 Reference Number (Ref #): N/A The Ruger M77, a bolt action rifle introduced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. in 1968, emerged as a robust and affordable alternative to classic designs like the Winchester Model 70. Crafted for hunters and sport shooters, the M77 blends traditional styling with Ruger’s innovative engineering, featuring a Mauser style controlled feed action for reliable cartridge handling. Chambered in powerful calibers like 300 Win Mag, it has earned a reputation as a durable big game rifle, prized for its accuracy and versatility across decades. This example, serial number 78414522, features a 24" barrel chambered in 300 Win Mag, paired with a Leupold 3x9 VariX II scope for precise long range targeting. It includes an internal magazine, typically holding three rounds in this caliber, reflecting the M77’s streamlined design. The rifle sports a walnut stock with a blued steel finish, a free floating barrel, and weighs approximately 7.5 to 8 pounds, measuring about 44" overall. Its bolt action system offers smooth cycling and a crisp trigger for consistent performance. In good condition, this Ruger M77 shows moderate wear consistent with use, yet functions properly with a sound bore and action. Manufactured in 1998, based on the "784" prefix per Ruger’s serial numbering records for the M77, it represents a later production run of the original design. With its Leupold optics and internal magazine, this rifle provides a reliable package for shooters or collectors seeking a proven 300 Win Mag bolt action.
