Manufacturer: Zastava Arms Type: Pistol Model: PAP Caliber: 5.56x45 Barrel Length: 10.5" Optics: N/A ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 2583 Serial Number (S/N): M85PV003850 Reference Number (Ref #): N/A The Zastava Arms PAP, a semi-automatic pistol introduced as part of the Serbian manufacturer’s Poluautomatska Puška/Pištolj (PAP) series, adapts the rugged AK47 platform for civilian use. Rooted in the legacy of the Zastava M85, a military design chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, the PAP variant emerged to meet U.S. import regulations, offering shooters a compact, reliable alternative to traditional handguns. Produced by Zastava, a company with over 165 years of firearms experience. This example, serial number M85PV003850, features a 10.5" barrel chambered in 5.56x45mm, designed for versatility in close quarters or range applications. It includes a stamped steel receiver, wooden hand guard, and fixed sights typical of the PAP M85PV model, weighing approximately 6.6 pounds and measuring about 19.5" inches overall. The semi-automatic action operates on a gas-driven system with a bolt hold open notch on the selector, though it lacks a magazine in this instance. Built with a chrome lined barrel and bulged trunnion, it ensures longevity and reliability. In good condition, this Zastava PAP shows moderate wear consistent with use, yet remains fully functional. Manufactured in 2013, based on the "M85PV" prefix and sequential numbering per Zastava’s production records for U.S. imports, it reflects an early batch from Century Arms’ distribution. Without a magazine, it still offers a solid foundation for shooters or collectors seeking a distinctive 5.56x45mm AK style pistol, customizable with widely available AR15compatible magazines.
