Manufacturer: Taurus Type: Pistol Model: PT 140 Pro Caliber: .40 Barrel Length: 3" Optics: N/A ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 2581 Serial Number (S/N): SCU66801 Reference Number (Ref #): N/A The Taurus PT 140 Pro, a semi-automatic pistol introduced by Taurus International in the early 2000s, expands the Brazilian manufacturer’s PT series with a compact design for concealed carry. Chambered in .40 S&W, the PT 140 Pro offers a balance of power and portability, building on Taurus’s reputation for affordable, reliable firearms since its inception in 1939. Marketed as an enhanced version of the original PT 140, it appeals to shooters seeking a lightweight, potent option for personal defense. This example, serial number SCU66801, features a 3" barrel chambered in .40 S&W, paired with a double action / single action trigger for versatile operation. It includes one magazine, typically holding ten rounds in this configuration, suited for its subcompact frame. The pistol sports a polymer frame with fixed sights and a stainless or blued slide - depending on the variant - weighing approximately 23 ounces and measuring about 6.2" overall. Its semi-auto action delivers consistent cycling and a manageable trigger pull for close quarters use. In good condition, this Taurus PT 140 Pro shows moderate wear consistent with use, yet remains fully functional. Manufactured circa 2008, based on the "SCU" prefix aligning with Taurus’s mid-2000s serial patterns for U.S. imports, it reflects a production run from the Pro series’ early years. With its single magazine included, this pistol provides a practical choice for shooters or collectors interested in a compact .40 S&W carry gun.
