A c.1971 black pen and ink lithograph, marked as "Proof" by Alaska artist Rie Muñoz entitled "Dance in the Kashim". The Kashim is a community house used by the Eskimos on King Island in the Bering Sea that has no doors, as the wind and cold would chill the place down. People come and go from a tunnel and hole in the floor, which was the official entrance to the Kashim. Within the community house, the King Island Eskimo women dance while sitting on benches linking the wall, their children sitting at their feet, watching the joyous activity around them. Titled, signed, and dated by the artist across the lower margin, it was later produced in a limited edition of 200. Matted in cream and framed in wood measuring approximately 22.75" x 22" overall with a sight view of 14" x 13.5".
