A silkscreen image on fabric by Alaska artist Rie Muñoz entitled "Drummer and Dancer", featuring a man playing a drum and a woman in a decorated kuspuk dancing beside him, rendered in bold black. The artist visited the village of Gambell on St. Lawrence Island in the 1980s and watched the dancing and drumming while making sketches in her sketchbook; drums are generally crafted of stretched walrus stomach over bent wood. The wall hanging has a rod loop sewn into the top edge as photographed. The image was also produced as a silkscreen on paper c.1980. Tapestry measures approximately 15" x 21.75".
