A Walt Disney Studios limited edition 182/950 artwork entitled "Walt's Highway in the Sky", produced to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Disneyland in Southern California, Disney artists have created this limited edition of 950 hand-painted character cels combined with a photograph taken in June 1959 of Walt Disney and Disneyland's 's monorail. Disney artists at the Walt Disney Studios have created these cels using traditional animation techniques. The original drawings, which were specially created for this edition and then conserved at Disney Art Editions, were transferred to acetate "cels" utilizing a special six-step xerographic process. Disney artists then hand-painted each of the cels in the edition with Disney-approved colors. The photographic background for this cel set-up has been produced using the original black-and-white negative which has been conserved at the Disney Photo Library. The resulting black-and-white continuous tone print has been printed on premium-quality photographic paper by ColorHouse of Burbank, California. Matted and framed with a Certificate of Authenticity en verso, it measures approximately 20" x 23" overall.
