Manufacturer: Marlin Type: Rifle Model: 1895GS Caliber: 45/70 Barrel Length: 18.5" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4029 S/N: MR15230G Ref #: N/A Notes: A Marlin 1895GS rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt. with an 18.5" barrel and lever-action operation. Purpose-built for hunting and field carry, offering substantial power in a compact, fast-handling rifle platform. This lever-action rifle features a stainless steel receiver and barrel assembly paired with a checkered wood stock and forend for secure handling. The sighting system includes iron sights, with a front sight hood and adjustable rear sight, along with a receiver-mounted Picatinny-style optics rail for adding an optic if desired. Controls and functional elements include a manually operated lever, exposed hammer, tubular magazine, loading gate, trigger guard lever loop, sling swivels, and a recoil pad fitted to the buttstock. Known for strong close- to medium-range performance, the .45-70 Govt. chambering offers substantial power and proven effectiveness for large-game hunting and heavy brush applications. In this Marlin guide-style configuration, the cartridge pairs well with the shorter barrel and lever-action design for practical handling in the field. Accessories include a brown leather sling and a hard-sided rifle case. Condition appears very good, with light handling marks visible on the stainless steel surfaces and wood furniture. The stock and forend show minor use-related marks while retaining strong checkering and an overall clean appearance.
