Steiff's Petsy Bicolor 1927 is a collector's replica of the company's distinctive 1927 Petsy design, made in brown-tipped mohair with blue glass eyes, contrasting felt paw pads, and a red neck ribbon. Produced circa 1989-1990, this 50 cm bear was issued in a limited edition of 5,000 pieces and carries Steiff article number 0180/50. Its mottled, two-tone appearance and expressive face recreate the unusual character of the earlier Petsy bear rather than the more familiar golden Steiff teddy. This example retains its Button in Ear identification and is accompanied by its original presentation box and Certificate of Authenticity.
