Created for the Steiff Club Edition 1999/2000, these two bears represent the past and future at the turn of the millennium. The black Teddybär 1912 Schwarz 35 is a mohair replica of Steiff's historic 1912 black bear, with contrasting felt paw pads, red neck ribbon, and Club medallion; Steiff identifies the 1999 replica as article number 420160. Its companion Jahrtausendwechsel-Bär ("Turn of the Millennium Bear") was created specifically to mark the transition from 1999 to 2000 and is dramatically divided between gold-brown and antique-rose mohair, with the respective years embroidered on its feet and a coordinating two-tone satin ribbon. The Millennium Bear is article number 420184, measures 32 cm in Steiff's sizing, and was produced as a Club Edition of 9,450 examples. Both retain their Button in Ear identification and Steiff Club medallions and are accompanied by their original presentation boxes and Certificates.
