Created as the Steiff Club Edition for 1997/98, this Filzelefant auf Rädern is a replica of a Steiff elephant-on-wheels design dating to 1914. Made in gray felt, the elephant features ivory-tone tusks, a curved trunk, black tail, and an ornate red saddle blanket with gold-tone trim and embroidery, all supported on four small spoked wheels. The piece reflects Steiff's long history of producing wheeled animal toys alongside its famous teddy bears and was offered specifically to Steiff Club collectors. This example retains its Button in Ear identification and Steiff Club chest tag and is accompanied by its original presentation box.
