Powered by a 12.8L Mercedes-Benz MBE4000 diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission, this truck was previously operated by the Municipality of Anchorage for winter road-maintenance service. The truck is equipped with a stainless-steel hopper-style sanding body with rear spreading equipment, auxiliary tanks, associated hydraulic equipment, and in-cab controls. The chassis is rated at a 59,220-lb GVWR and features tandem rear axles, air brakes, and a heavy-duty front axle. The truck also retains front mounting hardware and tire chains associated with its municipal winter-service configuration. The exterior, chassis, and sanding equipment show wear consistent with age and municipal service, including areas of surface rust, corrosion, and general cosmetic wear.
