A large, open wreath sculpture assembled from sweeping lengths of dark baleen, with projecting ends and fine bindings emphasizing the material’s flexible, fibrous character. Horizontal and diagonal elements cross the circular outline, holding a pale walrus ivory accent near the center. A separate small wrapped ornament accompanies the sculpture. Its approximately 34-inch height and spare, open construction give this unusual Arctic-material composition a strong graphic presence. Approximately 28" x 34".
