A signed walrus tooth scrimshaw by Iñupiaq carver Peter Mayac (1913–1976) of King Island, Alaska, depicting a ribbon seal resting on ice. The compact tooth provides a naturally shaped setting for the animal, with the engraved design bringing the seal into sharp contrast against the pale surface. Signed P. Mayac. Approximately 2" x 1" x 1".
