Two expressive carved and hand-painted Northwest Coast wooden works. A halibut bowl by Kwagiulth artist Stephen K. Hunt of Fort Rupert, British Columbia, combines an oval hollowed center with the fish’s broad silhouette and bold black-and-red formline details. Its reverse is signed and dated 1994. Rudolph M. Charlie’s hanging sculpture Eagle & Salmon depicts a spread-winged eagle grasping a fish, with crisp red, black and white painted elements set against the warm natural grain; the reverse is signed and dated 1990. Larger work dimensions: Approximately 7.25" x 19.75".
