Two signed walrus ivory scrimshaw pieces by Iñupiaq artist Wilbur Walluk (1928–1968), pairing a detailed ice-fishing scene with a walrus on an ice floe. On the larger, wedge-shaped section, the fisher works above a dark ice hole with tools and a catch in the foreground and a drying rack beyond. The smaller oval piece presents the walrus against angular ice formations. Fine incised linework, dense crosshatching and the warm ivory surfaces give the miniature scenes depth and character. The signatures read “Wilbur Walluk” and “W. Walluk.” Darkened checks and fine fissures are visible around the edges. The ice-fishing piece measures approximately 2.5" x 1.5" x 1.75" high.
