Two Yup’ik coiled-grass pieces with unusually engaging wildlife designs. A shallow bowl centers a walrus within red, green, purple and blue triangles, while a rounded lidded basket is encircled by moth-and-duck motifs. The basket’s fitted lid has a central knob. The broad bowl and taller covered form give the group contrasting profiles for display. Both pieces have areas of broken or missing grass wrapping, exposing parts of the underlying coil. Shallow bowl approximately 9" in diameter x 1" high; lidded basket approximately 4.5" in diameter x 6" high.
