A substantial section of mineralized walrus ivory decorated with scrimshaw by Iñupiaq carver Jerome Saclamana (b. 1963), originally from King Island, Alaska. Carefully arranged figures and equipment depict seal and walrus hunting, an umiak being carried over land and a hide-drying frame. The long natural form provides a continuous surface for these small scenes of work and travel. Measures approximately 11.5" x 2" x 2".
