A handmade seal-skin Yup'ik game/target ball, mid-20th century. The hide-covered body has a white ground, red seams and dots, and circular bullseye designs bordered with light gray seal fur. Used in a myriad of games, such as the High Kick, where an athlete supports the body on one hand, kicks upward to strike a suspended target, then lands on the kicking foot. The ball shows marks and wear from use. Measures approximately 6" in diameter x 6" tall.
