An Athabascan birchbark canoe model with an elegantly elongated hull, rising pointed ends and a closely fitted wooden interior framework. Bark panels are joined with split-root lashings, with tightly wrapped gunwales framing the open center and covered ends. The approximately 28.75-inch length allows the ribbing, layered bark and careful stitched construction to be appreciated in detail. Splits and small losses are present in the bark, particularly toward the ends and along one side. Approximately 28.75" x 6" x 3.75" tall.
