A fringed blue suede vest with an eye-catching combination of beaded eagle patches on the chest, orca motifs on the lower front and a large formline eagle on the back. A tanned short brown-fur hide with two circular cutouts accompanies it. The group also includes two matted Northwest Coast prints, shrink-wrapped on backing boards with information cards: “Kwa-Gulth Loon” by Kwagu’ł artist Richard Hunt (Canadian, b. 1951) and “Wa-Kis,” a frog design by Kwakwaka’wakw artist Joe Peters Jr. (Canadian, 1960–1994). The vest’s bold imagery and the two distinct print designs give the lot a broad Northwest Coast decorative theme. Approximate vest measurements: 23.25" across the chest; 17.25" between shoulders; 28" long, or 32.5" including fringe.
