Two carved walrus ivory letter openers. One appears to be carved from a single piece, with an Inuit figure forming the handle and a scrimshaw seal on an ice floe decorating the blade. The other has a dagger-like form assembled from separate blade, guard and handle sections with pins or rivets; areas of mottled inner dentine and varied coloration are visible. Neither bears an artist’s signature. Both show surface wear. The larger measures approximately 2.5" x 0.5" x 8.25" in total length.
