A walrus ivory scene of an Alaska Native hunter raising a harpoon, with a float, line and additional carved equipment on a half-disc whalebone base identified as a vertebral epiphysis. A bowhead whale carving accompanies the scene. Dark accents define the hunter’s parka and facial features and the whale’s mouth. The whale is loose, and an oval attachment mark is visible on the base. The base is marked RKS / NOME / ALASKA. Approximately 5.5" x 3.5" x 2.75" high.
