An original 1981 oil painting by Alaska artist Nick Chavez (1947–2016), depicting an autumn homestead framed by birch trees. Warm yellow grass surrounds log cabins, a rowboat, wheelbarrow, milk can and wooden barrel, bringing small signs of daily life into the broad landscape. The varied birch trunks and fall colors give the scene its strongest visual rhythm. Signed and dated 1981. Approximately 28" x 32" overall.
