"Sacred Ground", c.2014, is a signed photograph by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947–2025), numbered 190/950. The accompanying artwork description leaflet reads: "After months of cold and darkness, the icy grip of winter is but a distant memory. Fueled by the energy of eighteen hours of sunlight, new life explodes across the land. The cottongrass (arctic cotton) form a floral wreath around small kettle lakes-ancient relics of the last ice age-and twenty miles distant, the still ice covered mountains of Denali preside over the unfolding spectacle." The photograph is signed, dated, and numbered in the lower right corner in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Also included are a 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson Limited Edition Ilfochrome photographs catalog, and an artist's biography sheet. The artwork is matted and framed under glass, measuring approximately 17" x 20" overall.
