"Denali - Pearl of the North", c.2004, is a signed photograph by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947–2025), numbered 750/950. The accompanying artwork description leaflet reads: "It is nearly midnight and I've finished photographing. I sit alone and watch. The air is cool and it is very still. The "Great One" sleeps and the silence is like thunder. It explodes across the land as the mountain begins to glow a blend of lavender and pink, like melted pearl. I stare at the sleeping giant's reflection and remember another night -the night of my climb to the summit when six silhouettes began the final push from 18,400'. My reverie ends as the wake of a muskrat cracks the mirror of thought and the cry of a loon breaks the silence." The photograph is signed, dated, and numbered in the lower left corner in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Also included are a 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson Limited Edition Ilfochrome photographs catalog and an artist's biography sheet. The artwork is matted and framed under glass, measuring approximately 18" x 21" overall.
