Two Artist's Proof African wildlife photographs by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947-2025). "Burchell's Zebra", bearing a ©2004 inscription, catches a young colt kicking up its heels among a seemingly unperturbed herd in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. The colt's lively pose stands out among the adults, their boldly striped coats bright against the green plain. More animals are scattered beyond them, carrying the eye across the open grassland toward the distant horizon. The second, untitled work also bears a ©2004 inscription and opens onto a sweeping Serengeti scene. Dozens of wildebeest graze across the plain as giraffes walk among them, their long necks and patterned coats rising well above their companions. Herds stretch into the distance beneath a broad sky, with a pale escarpment tracing the far edge of the landscape. Both examples have artist biographies on the reverse and are signed, dated and marked A/P in the lower left corners in gold leaf ink. They are printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper and shrink-wrapped on board for protection. The larger measures approximately 12.25" x 24.5" overall.
