"Sacred Ground" is a signed photograph by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947–2025), numbered 276/950 and bearing a ©2014 inscription. The accompanying artwork description leaflet reads: "After months of cold and darkness, the icy grip of winter is but a distant memory. Fueled by the energy of eighteen hours of sunlight, new life explodes across the land. The cottongrass (arctic cotton) form a floral wreath around small kettle lakes-ancient relics of the last ice age-and twenty miles distant, the still ice covered mountains of Denali preside over the unfolding spectacle." The photograph is signed, dated, and numbered in the lower left corner in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Also included is a 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson Limited Edition Ilfochrome photographs catalog. The artwork is matted and framed under glass, measuring approximately 29" x 33" overall.
