Two signed and numbered photographs by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947-2025). The first example, "McKinley Summer", is dated circa 1996 and numbered 515/950. The accompanying description reads: "Cotton grass or Arctic cotton, grows in moist areas around tundra ponds. Some years, if the spring is extremely wet, it grows in profusion and provides a wonderful foreground for pictures of Mt. McKinley. To make this photograph, I used a 35mm lens and mounted my camera on a tripod. Because there was very little wind, I was able to use a slow shutter speed to achieve maximum depth of field." The second example, "McKinley Summer", is dated circa 1996 and numbered 12/950. The accompanying description reads: "Flowering cottongrass along the shore of an unnamed tundra pond frames Mt. McKinley and the Alaska Range in Denali National Park. Cottongrass or Arctic cotton grows in moist areas around tundra ponds and is most abundant in Spring." The photographs are signed, dated, and numbered in the lower right corners in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Also included are 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson Limited Edition Ilfochrome photographs catalogs, artist's biography sheets, and Johnny Johnson's 1996 Alaska Engagement Calendars. The artworks are matted and framed under glass. The larger measures approximately 28" x 24" overall.
