Two signed and numbered photographs by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947-2025). The first work, "The Ice Otter", is dated circa 1998 and numbered 40/950. The accompanying description reads: "Photographing wild sea otters in Prince William Sound can be a very challenging experience. Sometimes they feed on mussels amidst thick ice floes from nearby calving glaciers. A large boat cannot navigate these shallow ice-choked areas so I used a rubber inflatable to get in close. Maneuvering around razor-sharp pieces of ice in a small inflatable craft while trying to balance a thirteen pound 600mm lens is very tricky and more than a little risky. Fortunately for me my risk was rewarded with this wonderful photograph of sea otter eating a mussel while floating amongst the 'bergy bits' of ice." The second work, "Unseen Presence", is dated circa 2005 and numbered 35/950. The accompanying description reads: "While photographing this wolf, he paused for a drink near the Toklat River in Denali National Park. It is a perfect illustration of natural camouflage. For me, this image presents the wolf as a symbol of the 'whole of nature', the unspoiled wilderness. The fresh flowing stream connects the wolf to the very essence of all life-water." Both are signed, dated, and numbered in the lower left corners in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Also included are 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson catalogs, an artist's biography sheet, postcards, Alaska magazine, Johnny Johnson's 2001 Alaska Wildlife Calendar, Alaska address book, and more. The photographs are matted and framed under glass, one with some wear to the frame as photographed; the larger measures approximately 33" x 29" overall.
