Three signed and numbered photographs by Alaska wildlife photographer Johnny Johnson (1947–2025). "Sacred Ground", c.2014, is numbered 391/950. The artist's description reads: "After months of cold and darkness, the icy grip of winter is but a distant memory. Fueled by the energy of eighteen hours of sunlight, new life explodes across the land. The cottongrass (arctic cotton) form a floral wreath around small kettle lakes-ancient relics of the last ice age-and twenty miles distant, the still ice covered mountains of Denali preside over the unfolding spectacle." "Reflections", c.2006, is numbered 243/950. The artist's description reads: "Many people consider the view of Mt. McKinley from Wonder Lake to be a 'wilderness masterpiece'. They're right! It takes your breath away in any season, but in September as the caribou migrate through the multicolored tundra and the honking of thousands of sandhill cranes cracks the silence-it is truly magic." "McKinley Summer", c.1996, is numbered 685/950. The artist's description reads: "Cotton grass or Arctic cotton, grows in moist areas around tundra ponds. Some years, if the spring is extremely wet, it grows in profusion and provides a wonderful foreground for pictures of Mt. McKinley. To make this photograph, I used a 35mm lens and mounted my camera on a tripod. Because there was very little wind, I was able to use a slow shutter speed to achieve maximum depth of field." All photographs are signed, dated, and numbered in the lower left or right corner in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Each photograph is shrink-wrapped on board, and "Reflections", the largest photograph, measures approximately 20.5" x 24".
