An untitled, signed Artist's Proof by Johnny Johnson (1947–2025), dated 1987. Pacific walruses crowd the rocky shore of Round Island in Bristol Bay, Alaska, forming a dense band of rusty-brown bodies between the steep rock face and deep blue water. An included personal note identifies it as the photographer's own copy and reads: "Never in an edition, personal copy of Johnny Johnson. artist's proof 1987. Pacific Walrus haul out on Round Island, Bristol Bay Alaska. Walrus bulls can weight up to two tons and live to be 40 years old." The photograph is signed and dated in the lower right corner in gold leaf ink and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Supergloss paper. Also included is the 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson Limited Edition Ilfochrome photographs catalog. The photograph is matted and framed under glass, measuring approximately 30" x 22" overall.
