A signed artist's proof wildlife photograph by Alaska photographer Johnny Johnson (1947–2025), accompanied by his safari hat, expedition photographs and a photography catalog. The main work, "African Elephants", is signed, dated circa 1993 and marked AP. A herd advances across the open landscape of Tarangire National Park in Tanzania, with a large elephant approaching at the center, its tusks and broad ears catching the light. More elephants follow on either side, their pale, textured hides set against dark green scrub and a violet-blue sky. A second photograph shows Johnson standing behind his tripod-mounted camera while photographing an elephant in the savanna. The third photograph shows the expedition group standing in front of a safari tent. Johnson's personal safari hat is made of olive green wool with a brown braided leather hatband and adjustable chin strap. Its accompanying personal note reads, "Johnny Johnson's Safari hat used on two African Expeditions". Also included is the 1997/98 The Art of Johnny Johnson Limited Edition Ilfochrome photographs catalog. "African Elephants" is matted and framed under glass, measuring approximately 21" x 31" overall.
