Manufacturer: Remington Type: Rifle Model: 700 Caliber: 308 win Barrel Length: 25" Optics: SS 10x42M fixed-power 10x42 scope ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4289 S/N: B6718768 Ref #: 1083019 Notes: A Remington Model 700 .308 Winchester bolt-action rifle with a 25-inch barrel, camouflage-finished sporting stock and mounted SS 10x42M fixed-power scope. Irregular green, brown and black shapes cover the stock, with a separate camouflage treatment on the scope. The long barrel, raised cheekpiece and perforated tan leather sling give this example a distinctive field-rifle configuration. The blued steel receiver and barrel are fitted to a contoured stock with a pistol grip and textured brown buttpad. The Model 700's cylindrical receiver and rotating bolt use two opposed front locking lugs, with a right-side ejection port and internal magazine. A curved trigger, receiver-mounted safety and sling attachment studs complete the rifle's traditional bolt-action layout. Introduced in 1962, the Model 700 became a widely used foundation for American sporting and target rifles. Its established action design and adaptable configuration account for its presence across hunting and precision-oriented applications. In this rifle, the .308 Winchester chambering pairs a full-power sporting cartridge with a long barrel and telescopic sight, a combination familiar in target shooting and medium- to large-game hunting. The camouflage-finished scope is marked SS 10X42M, identifying a fixed 10-power scope with a 42 mm objective. It has elevation and windage turrets and is mounted in rings on a receiver rail. The underside also bears a nitrogen-port marking. A tan leather sling with perforated adjustment sections is included; the leather carries an MRT 12-86 marking. The camouflage coating shows scuffs and uneven coverage, and the metal has finish wear and discoloration. The scope exterior has substantial wear, with visible spotting or residue on the lenses. The brown buttpad is worn and discolored.
