Manufacturer: Beretta Type: Pistol Model: 92FS Caliber: 9 mm Barrel Length: 5" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4450 S/N: BER314841Z Ref #: N/A Notes: A Beretta 92FS 9mm double-action/single-action semi-automatic pistol with an approximately 5-inch barrel and black finger-grooved wraparound grips. Its open-top steel slide exposes the barrel above an aluminum-alloy frame, giving the full-size pistol the recognizable profile of the Beretta 92 family. This example bears Beretta U.S.A., Accokeek, Maryland, and Made in USA markings. No magazine is included. The 92FS developed from the Model 92 platform associated with the U.S. military M9, incorporating the FS slide-retention refinement. Its combination of a traditional metal frame, exposed hammer and short-recoil falling-locking-block system distinguishes it from striker-fired polymer pistols. The open-top slide and locking-block arrangement are central features of this longstanding service-pistol design. The slide has rear cocking serrations and ambidextrous safety/decocking levers. A slide stop and magazine release are mounted on the frame, and fixed front-blade and rear-notch sights complete the sighting system. The textured wraparound grips add finger contours across the front strap and a fuller gripping surface around the frame. The 9mm chambering and full-size configuration have supported the platform's use in service, training and recreational target shooting. The black finish remains broadly intact, with scattered handling marks and light wear on the barrel, grips, muzzle and operating controls.
