Manufacturer: Ruger Type: Revolver Model: LCR Caliber: .357 Mag Barrel Length: 2" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4445 S/N: 1540-74702 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Ruger LCR .357 Magnum double-action-only revolver with an approximately 2-inch barrel, five-shot fluted cylinder and black Hogue Tamer Monogrip. The enclosed hammer and compact grip frame give it a rounded, streamlined profile. Its matte black stainless steel cylinder frame is joined to a separate polymer fire-control housing, a defining construction feature of the LCR family. LCR stands for Lightweight Compact Revolver. Ruger introduced the series in 2009 and added the .357 Magnum version in 2010. The Magnum configuration uses a stainless steel cylinder frame in place of the aluminum frame used on the .38 Special version, accommodating the different chambering while retaining the compact overall design. Ruger's friction-reducing trigger cam was developed to moderate the stacking associated with a traditional double-action trigger. The barrel has a steel liner within its exterior housing. A push-button cylinder release, swing-out cylinder and ejector rod accompany the deeply fluted cylinder. The sights consist of a replaceable front ramp and fixed rear notch. The rubber Hogue grip has molded finger grooves and textured surfaces around the grip frame. The .357 Magnum version also accepts .38 Special ammunition, providing the model with a second established chambering option. The frame and barrel housing show scattered scratches and localized finish wear, with rotation marks on the cylinder. The grip has surface wear and residue within the textured areas.
