Manufacturer: Ruger Type: Rifle Model: Precision Caliber: .308 Win Barrel Length: 20.5" Optics: Vortex Optics Diamondback HP 4-16x42 ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4243 S/N: 1800-22152 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Ruger Precision Rifle in .308 Winchester with a 20.5-inch barrel, Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 scope and Samson Evolution handguard. Its folding adjustable stock, separate pistol grip and chassis-style lower assembly place it within the modern precision-target rifle category. This example has the early-style Samson Evolution Series 12.37-inch handguard and Ruger Precision stock configuration associated with the original rifle design. Introduced in 2015, the Ruger Precision combined a conventional bolt-action mechanism with an inline stock arrangement and modern sporting-rifle ergonomics. Its three-lug bolt has a 70-degree throw and oversized handle. The adjustable Ruger Marksman trigger, detachable-magazine system and free-floating barrel arrangement are central elements of the platform's configurable design. The matte black steel barrel and receiver are paired with an aluminum chassis-style lower and polymer pistol grip. The stock folds at its receiver hinge and provides adjustment for length of pull and cheekpiece height, allowing the buttstock and comb to be fitted to different positions. A rubber recoil pad finishes the stock. The ventilated Samson handguard has elongated openings and a Picatinny top rail, with a separate receiver rail supporting the scope. A thread-protector cap is fitted at the muzzle, and no iron sights are installed. The Vortex Diamondback HP scope provides a 4x-to-16x magnification range and 42mm objective. Its side-focus/parallax control and graduated adjustments distinguish it from a basic fixed-power optic. Black rings secure it to the receiver rail. The .308 Winchester chambering is longstanding in target competition and sporting use, with a broad selection of bullet weights. One detachable box magazine accompanies the rifle. The rifle and scope retain generally uniform black finishes, with light edge marks and handling wear on the receivers, handguard and stock. The scope housing has scattered exterior marks.
