Its black thumbhole shoulder stock and long synthetic fore-end give it a distinctive utility-oriented form. A black nylon sling is attached at the front and rear mounting points. The Survivor belongs to the Harrington & Richardson/New England Firearms single-shot family. It combined the traditional steel break action with storage-capable synthetic furniture intended for outdoor equipment and small supplies. The large open thumbhole, integrated pistol grip and enclosed stock compartment distinguish this configuration from the company's conventional wood-stock sporting arms. The steel receiver has an exposed hammer and single trigger. A small front bead remains atop the barrel. The muzzle has exposed internal threads, and no choke tube is fitted there. The barrel's dual .45 Colt/.410 marking is a defining feature of this Survivor configuration, alongside its compact barrel and storage stock. Extensive rust, oxidation and finish loss cover the barrel, receiver, hinge and hammer area. The synthetic stock and fore-end have scuffs and embedded discoloration. Corrosion extends to the muzzle and exposed metal fittings.
