Made in Japan for Browning, this rifle combines dark-finished steel with a black synthetic sporting stock, textured gripping panels and a rubber recoil pad. Flip-up scope covers and a black nylon carrying sling accompany the rifle. The original A-Bolt entered production in 1985. Its three-lug bolt uses a short 60-degree lift, providing clearance between the raised bolt handle and a mounted scope. A top-tang safety and detachable box magazine carried within a hinged floorplate are further distinctions of the design. Serial 70991PN7C7 includes Browning's PN date code for 1989 and 7C7 configuration code for the Composite Stalker. The stock has a conventional comb and pistol-grip profile, with textured panels along the grip and fore-end. Synthetic construction provides a different response to moisture than traditional wooden furniture, fitting the Stalker's field-oriented configuration. The .30-06 Springfield chambering has a long-established role in North American medium- and large-game hunting, supported by a broad range of sporting bullet weights. The Vortex Crossfire II offers 3x-to-9x magnification and a 40mm objective. Rings and bases secure it above the receiver, with flip-up covers protecting the objective and eyepiece. The adjustable nylon sling is attached through metal swivels at the stock's mounting points. The stock has scattered scratches, scuffs and surface discoloration. The barrel and receiver retain a generally even finish with localized wear around the action and exposed edges. The scope exterior and recoil pad have minor handling wear.
