Manufacturer: Rossi Type: Rifle Model: R92 Caliber: .357 Mag / .38 SPL Barrel Length: 16" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4236 S/N: 51T204994 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Rossi R92 .357 Magnum/.38 Special lever-action carbine with a 16-inch barrel and enlarged operating-lever loop. Blued steel is paired with plain hardwood furniture, including a straight-grip buttstock with a curved metal buttplate. The short barrel and full-length magazine tube give this example the compact proportions of a traditional pistol-caliber carbine. The R92 follows the Winchester Model 1892 pattern, retaining a top-ejecting action, exposed hammer and right-side loading gate. Barrel bands secure the wooden fore-end and tubular magazine. This example also has a manual safety on top of the bolt, combining a modern safety feature with the older lever-action layout. A bead-topped front sight is paired with an adjustable buckhorn-style rear sight. The barrel is marked Braztech, L.C., Miami, Florida and Made in Brazil by Taurus, with both .357 Magnum and .38 Special marked on the opposite side. The dual chambering permits the established Magnum cartridge and the lower-recoil .38 Special option within the same carbine configuration. The hardwood has scattered surface scratches, small handling dents and minor finish wear. The blued metal retains a largely uniform dark finish, with light localized wear around the receiver, lever and barrel bands.
