Manufacturer: SKYY Type: Pistol Model: CPX-1 Caliber: 9mm Barrel Length: 3" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4285 S/N: 000929 Ref #: N/A Notes: A SKYY CPX-1 9mm compact semi-automatic pistol with a 3-inch barrel, black polymer frame and black-finished steel slide. This example retains the early SKYY Industries branding that preceded the SCCY name, adding a specific point of interest within the CPX family. A Flambeau hard case and one detachable magazine accompany it. The CPX-1 combines an internal hammer and double-action-only trigger with a short-recoil, locked-breech action. Ambidextrous frame-mounted manual safety levers distinguish its controls, with a push-button magazine release on the left side. The enclosed hammer arrangement preserves the pistol’s compact outline, while the short slide and frame place it firmly within the small centerfire-pistol category. Horizontal molded grooves and textured panels cover the grip, and rear serrations provide a grasping surface on the slide. Fixed front and rear iron sights sit above the squared slide profile. The model marking appears on the frame, with SKYY Industries and Florida manufacturer markings on the opposite side. Mechanical design engineer Joe Roebuck founded the Florida company in 2003. Its original SKYY name was later changed to SCCY to avoid confusion with the vodka brand of the same name. This pistol’s early branding therefore connects it with the beginnings of a company that became closely associated with affordable, compact American-made 9mm handguns. The familiar 9mm chambering also provides a broad selection of recreational target ammunition. The pistol shows ordinary handling wear, including slide-edge wear and scuffing on the grip. The molded grip pattern and maker markings remain clearly defined.
