Manufacturer: Maverick Type: Shotgun Model: 88 Caliber: 12 GA Barrel Length: 18.5" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4212 S/N: MV18677N Ref #: N/A Notes: A Maverick Model 88 12-gauge pump-action shotgun with an 18.5-inch barrel, black synthetic shoulder stock and ribbed sliding fore-end. A receiver-mounted shell carrier and the user manual accompany this compact, plainly equipped configuration. The pump action feeds from a tubular magazine beneath the barrel. Deep transverse ribs on the fore-end provide a defined grasping surface, while the stock has a shaped pistol-grip wrist and a grooved recoil pad. A brass-colored front bead supplies the sighting reference along the plain barrel. The black shell carrier is attached to the left side of the receiver, adding external storage for individual shells beside the action. The opposite side retains the ejection opening and unobstructed receiver profile. The Maverick 88 belongs to Mossberg’s economical pump-shotgun family, using the familiar manually cycled repeating layout in a straightforward synthetic-stocked form. Here, the 12-gauge chambering, fixed shoulder stock and compact barrel are combined with a simple bead sight and the added shell carrier. The shotgun presents well with light handling marks on the metal and synthetic furniture. The ribbed fore-end and recoil pad retain clearly defined surfaces.
