Manufacturer: Davide Pedersoli Type: Blackpowder Rifle Model: UNK Caliber: .50 Barrel Length: 34.25" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: No Log: N/A S/N: DA126088 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Davide Pedersoli .50-caliber percussion muzzleloading rifle with a 34.25-inch octagonal barrel, full-length wooden stock and brass furniture. Its long, slender proportions recall the traditional American long rifle, with a curved buttplate, compact side-mounted lock and ramrod beneath the barrel. A soft carrying case accompanies the rifle. The percussion lock has an exposed side hammer, with two curved triggers inside the brass guard. A front blade and open rear sight are fitted along the barrel. The wood extends almost to the muzzle, where a brass nose cap provides a bright contrast to the dark octagonal barrel; brass ramrod fittings and side furniture continue the same treatment. The barrel is marked Pedersoli, Cal. 50 and serial DA126088. Pedersoli’s reproduction-firearm tradition is represented here by the combination of historic long-rifle styling and a percussion ignition system. The octagonal barrel, full stock and curved brass buttplate are the features that most strongly define this example’s appearance. The barrel, breech area and lock have substantial rust and finish loss. The stock shows handling marks, while the brass fittings have acquired a warm tarnished surface. The ramrod and soft case remain with the rifle.
