Manufacturer: Taurus Type: Pistol Model: PT740 Slim Caliber: .40S&W Barrel Length: 3" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4410 S/N: SG048988 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Taurus PT740 Slim .40 S&W semi-automatic pistol with a 3-inch barrel and black polymer grip frame. The short slide and narrow, contoured grip give this model the compact profile emphasized by its Slim designation. One detachable magazine is included. The black-finished steel slide has angled rear serrations and low-profile iron sights, with Taurus and Slim markings along its left side. The frame combines transverse grip ribs with molded side panels and the Taurus emblem. A trigger safety, left-side manual safety and slide control are incorporated into the compact control layout. The PT740 brought .40 S&W chambering to Taurus’s Slim pistol format, pairing a centerfire service cartridge with a reduced-size polymer-frame design. The smooth forward frame and short grip keep the outline uncluttered, while the metal slide and barrel provide the contrasting upper assembly. PT740 and caliber markings identify the model separately from its serial number. The slide shows pronounced bright edge wear and finish thinning, especially along its forward corners and upper edges. The grip ribs remain defined, and the included magazine has handling wear.
