Manufacturer: McKay Enterprises Type: Rifle Model: ME-AK74 Caliber: 5.45x39mm Barrel Length: 18.5" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4416 S/N: KM00379 Ref #: N/A Notes: A McKay Enterprises ME-AK74 rifle chambered in 5.45×39mm, with an 18.5-inch barrel and a Midwest Industries railed handguard. The rifle retains the distinctive AK-pattern receiver, gas-tube arrangement and front sight profile, but the shoulder stock and magazine are absent. A black synthetic pistol grip remains fitted. The handguard is marked Midwest Industries and Made in U.S.A., with ventilating openings and numbered Picatinny rail sections along its exterior. It replaces the traditional wooden fore-end treatment with a modular metal mounting surface. A large ported muzzle brake completes the barrel assembly, and the rifle retains a graduated rear sight and protected front sight. McKay Enterprises, ME-AK74 and 5.45×39mm markings appear beneath the receiver. The AK-74 pattern represents the smaller-caliber development of the Kalashnikov rifle family, retaining its recognizable receiver and gas-operated layout while using the 5.45mm cartridge. This example combines that pattern with the American-marked receiver and aftermarket railed fore-end. There is substantial oxidation and rust across the receiver, top cover, sights and other metal surfaces. The empty rear stock attachment area is exposed, and no magazine is included.
