Manufacturer: Winchester Type: Rifle Model: 70 Caliber: 30-06 Barrel Length: 22" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4279 S/N: G10820C2 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Winchester Model 70 .30-06 bolt-action rifle with a 22-inch barrel and a green-finished stock. The stock has a raised cheekpiece and a pronounced pistol-grip wrist, giving this example a distinctive sporting profile. An Uncle Mike’s ventilated recoil pad is fitted at the butt. The rifle retains front and rear iron sights, with no scope mounted. A turned-down bolt handle and rear bolt-mounted safety occupy the familiar Model 70 action layout. The dark barrel contrasts with the green stock, and sling attachment points remain fitted beneath the furniture. Introduced in 1936, the Model 70 became one of Winchester’s best-known sporting bolt-action rifles. Its combination of a conventional shoulder stock, manually operated bolt and broad range of hunting chamberings helped establish its place in American sporting-firearm history. The .30-06 chambering is a longstanding pairing within that tradition, offering a wide range of sporting bullet weights and applications. The green stock finish is worn and abraded, particularly around the wrist, with scattered scratches elsewhere. The Uncle Mike’s recoil pad is extensively cracked and deteriorated. The barrel and other metal surfaces show finish wear.
