Manufacturer: F.Lli Pietta Firearms Type: Blackpowder Revolver Model: 1860 Army Caliber: .44 Cal Barrel Length: 8" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: No Log: N/A S/N: 526054 Ref #: N/A Notes: An F.lli Pietta 1860 Army-pattern .44-caliber percussion revolver with an 8-inch round barrel, brass-colored frame and smooth wooden grips. The open-top frame, long barrel and curved grip profile recall the nineteenth-century Army revolver form, while the Italian maker markings identify this as a modern reproduction. The revolver has an exposed hammer, six-chamber percussion cylinder and single-action mechanism. A loading lever follows the underside of the barrel, and the front sight sits close to the muzzle. The black barrel and cylinder contrast with the bright frame and trigger guard, creating a particularly clear separation of the major components. The barrel is marked F.lli Pietta, Made in Italy and Black Powder Only .44 Cal. The smooth grips show lively brown grain and continue the curved outline of the grip frame. The combination of a rounded barrel and open-top action distinguishes the Army-style silhouette from solid-top percussion revolver designs. Pietta’s reproduction revolvers interpret historic firearms through modern manufacture, and this example presents the recognizable 1860 Army form in a contrasting brass-colored and blued configuration. The metal shows light handling wear and scattered finish marks. The wooden grips retain an attractive grain pattern, with minor surface wear.
