Manufacturer: Charter Arms Type: Revolver Model: Undercoverette Caliber: .32 S&W Long Barrel Length: Approx. 2" Optics: Iron Sights ATF Form 4473 Required: Yes Log: 4261 S/N: 329652 Ref #: N/A Notes: A Charter Arms Undercoverette .32 S&W Long double-action/single-action revolver, circa 1974–1975, with an approximately 2-inch barrel, six-shot cylinder and checkered wooden grips, accompanied by a Hunter leather holster. The short barrel, rounded grip profile and low fixed sights give it the compact proportions associated with Charter Arms’ small-frame revolvers. Dark bluing, warm brown wood and the fitted leather holster create a traditional appearance. The revolver has an exposed hammer, swing-out fluted cylinder and unshrouded ejector rod. A fixed front blade and rear groove in the frame supply the sighting system. Round Charter Arms medallions are inset into the grip panels, and the barrel carries the Undercoverette .32 marking. Founded in 1964, Charter Arms established its name with the five-shot .38 Special Undercover. The Undercoverette applied the compact-revolver concept to a six-shot .32, a relationship shown in the company’s period advertising. The extra cylinder chamber and smaller caliber distinguish it from the better-known Undercover while retaining the same restrained proportions and simple exterior layout. The brown leather holster is embossed Hunter and Made in U.S.A., with contrasting light stitching and a snap-fastened retaining strap. Its shaped body follows the compact revolver profile. Much of the dark bluing remains, with edge wear, scratches and areas of brown patina. The wood grips retain distinct checkering and medallions; the holster shows use and creasing along its formed leather surfaces.
